fooSomewhere around last week, i visited Singapore with my family. It was a short yet plentiful trip. For the first time in my life, i acted as a tourist rather than a shopper in Singapore. It might sound silly but i actually visited "Merlion" for the first time on my last trip. All those time i spent in Singapore when i was a child were used mainly on departement store, which saddened me. Visiting foreign countries in my late teenager year lit my traveler side a lot. I actually manage to try a lot of new food, rather than the usual McD, Ajisen Ramen, or Yong Tau Foo which i usually ate. Some of those food were :
Hokkian Style Noodle with Prawn(S$ 5) - Aloe Vera Jelly(S$ 2) - Garret Caramel Popcorn(S$ 9)
> The hokkian noodle was really, really delicious! It actually taste a lot like keatiauw sapi hayam wuruk 61 at kelapa gading, which is more than fine to me. The prawn was really big and juicy and the noodle was really soft and flavouring. Delightful!
> I never thought that Aloe Vera Jelly actually means, "Es cincau hijau" back here in Indonesia. All things considered, it was very soft, sweet and different than those "cincau". It taste more light and the jelly served with them are more than your usual "nutrijel"
> One of the best caramel popcorn i ever tasted! It was really sweet but never cross the line of nauseating. It still crunchy even after five hours and definitely better (and pricier) than those so called caramel popcorn sold in the cinema.

Es Kacang (S$ 2)
The three syrup is actually the only thing i like. When the ice melt and all the colour blend, it turned into a very disgusting deep brown icky thing. Though the taste (which was sweet and savouring) never dissolve, the appetite did.

Six very very big dumplings served with soup. The dumplings itself was quite average. The amount of celery and onion they used actually distract the taste of the meat. The soup on the other hand are quite nice. But when combined with the chopped garlic they gave me, it got worsen.
Cheese and Mochi Okonomiyaki (S$ 9)
Yes i'm not kidding, it contains mochi. Sweet and gooey mochi! It caught my eyes while i read the menu and i ordered it whitout thinking. How i regret that decision. It was cheesy, yet it did. But the plain and kinda sweet flavour of mochi clash with the cheesiness of the Cheese. I can only taste the Okonomiyaki sauce after that.

Beef Sausage Okonomiyaki (S$ 13)
My sister ordered this one and i actually crave this one better than mine. The sausage was really tender while the noodle and cabbage gets crispier because of the hotplate. Really delicious!

I stayed in Singapore for five days, but i can't manage to take all the pics of the food i ate while i stayed there. I did taste a dessert from Burger King called the Taro Turnover which was really nice. Crisp outside tender and sweet inside. I also tried the hot dog from a stand in Universal Studio. As bland as a hot dog could get, that one was one of the blandest. I really love Singapore, with all those perfectionism and cleanliness, but i still love Indonesia for providing water to wash my buttocks after i p00p :p
